Winter in the Zillertal

Surrounded by numerous 3,000-meter peaks and the stunning mountain scenery of the Tux Prealps, the Tux Main Ridge, and the Zillertal Alps, the Zillertal offers a unique mountain landscape. Four large ski areas provide 487 kilometers of groomed slopes with guaranteed snow and 178 modern lifts.

OUR “HOME SKI AREA” MAYRHOFEN

  • The free ski bus stops right in front of our aparthotel and takes our guests
    to the base stations of the Penkenbahn, Horbergbahn, and Ahornbahn in 5 minutes.
  • 53 state-of-the-art lifts and 133 kilometers of slopes with blue, red, and
    black runs offer everything a winter sports enthusiast could wish for.
  • The Harakiri slope, with a 78% gradient, is Austria's steepest ski slope.
  • For boarders and freeskiers, there’s the Vans Penken Park, which offers 6 areas
    for all skill levels.
  • The White Lounge on the Ahorn is a combination of igloo bar, igloo hotel,
    and chillout area.

CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING

There are a total of four routes in Mayrhofen for sprinting and skating. Three of them are also illuminated in the evening.

SLEDDING

If you're in the mood to grab a sled and race down a snowy hill or path with your children, we have several options for you. For example, you can hike up to Gasthof Wiesenhof and ride down the natural sledding track.
Or try the Gerlosstein toboggan run, which is the longest illuminated natural toboggan run, stretching 7 km.


SNOWSHOE HIKING

Experience untouched winter landscapes and snow. Experienced mountain guides will show you the best routes and also have rental snowshoes ready for you.
